Retained Development & Support

A digital team on hand, without hiring one.

For businesses that rely on several websites, systems and campaigns, a retained arrangement gives you ongoing access to development, support and digital advice from a team that already knows your business.

What retained development & support involves

Hiring an in-house developer, designer and digital marketer is out of reach for most SMEs, and freelancers come and go. A retained arrangement gives you consistent capacity each month to keep improving your digital systems, handle problems and plan ahead.

Arrangements are built around what you need: application maintenance and enhancements, website improvements, automation work, marketing support, troubleshooting and technology planning. We agree priorities together and report on what was delivered.

Every arrangement is enquiry-based and individually agreed. There are no fixed packages because no two businesses need the same mix.

Each month we agree priorities with you, work through them, and report back in plain English on what was delivered, what's next and anything we've noticed that needs attention. Larger pieces of work that won't fit within the agreed capacity are quoted separately, so there are never surprise bills.

How we work

  1. 01

    Review

We look at what you have, how it is hosted and what condition it is in, and tell you honestly what needs attention.

  2. 02

    Onboard

Access, backups, monitoring and documentation are set up so nothing depends on guesswork.

  3. 03

    Maintain

Updates, security patches and small changes are handled on a regular schedule.

  4. 04

    Respond

When something breaks or needs changing, you have one place to ask and a clear record of what was done.

  5. 05

    Improve

We suggest improvements when they are worth making, and quote them separately where they are larger pieces of work.

FAQs

Common questions

More answers on our FAQ page, or ask us directly.

How does a retained arrangement work?

We agree the scope, capacity and priorities, then work through them each month, reporting on progress. Arrangements are reviewed regularly so they continue to fit.

Is there a minimum term?

Terms are agreed individually. We prefer arrangements that continue because they are useful, not because of lengthy lock-ins.

Does it include general IT support?

No. It covers websites, applications, digital systems and marketing, not computers, networks or mailboxes.

Can unused time roll over?

This is agreed per arrangement. We will be clear about it upfront.
